THE DANCEWORX THEATRE SOCIETY

The Danceworx Theatre Society is a non-profit organization established in 2001 with a vision to support the development of international dance across the country and to help people find success and growth using the medium of dance.

The mission is to impact society at diverse economic, cultural and geographic cross-points through the facilitation of vocational training, workshops, scholarships, exchange programs, performances and other innovative platforms, through dance and leadership values.

Our social initiatives have included projects like:

• The Youth Reach Project (New Delhi) – set up to reach out to underprivileged kids from shelters & street children to give them free dance tuition with the aim of channelizing their energies and giving the talented ones an opportunity to have a vocation
• The Kwaish Project (Dharavi, Mumbai) – again set up with the same aim as above
• The Going Home Project – a fully-funded dance scholarship program to help talented young dancers who come from financially challenged backgrounds across India to build a professional dance career for themselves by paying for their professional dance tuition, lodging and travel

Our artistic initiatives have included projects like:

• The Chrysalis Project – a mentorship program for upcoming dance artists
• Cascade- Artist Across Borders – collaboration between Indian and international artists
• Box Theatre – black box platform for student dancers and choreographers to experiment and showcase their work

The Danceworx Theatre Society has also organized several successfully collaborations with foreign embassies and corporate stakeholders by organizing curated events for the promotion of arts.

The society over the past two decades has partnered with several NGO's like CanSupport, Smile India, Help Age India, FReesia- Autism Awareness, Prakriti Foundation, Friends of Art, Keshav Suri Foundation, etc. to spread awareness of various issues.
