Shohini Dutta joined The Danceworx in 1998. She is trained in Jazz, Contemporary, Classical Ballet and Street Funk. She has also done training workshops in Chau Folk Dance, Hip-hop, Acro Yoga, Yoga, Latin Ballroom, Gyrotonics, Pilates, Choreography Composition and Contact Improvisation.
Shohini has also trained in Bharatnatyam for 6 years from Rohini Gokhale. And, she was offered a scholarship from the French embassy to attend the Composition of Choreography Workshop at the Fondation Royaumont, France (2006) with Susan Buirge.
Shohini has an extensive performing resume. She has danced in various pieces of The Danceworx Student Repertory Company repertoire, choreographed by Indian and International choreographers. And she has performed extensively for stage, film and television.

Shohini has worked extensively in film choreography. She has assisted choreographer Ashley Lobo on the following films: Rockstar (director Imtiaz Ali), Pyaar Ka Punchnama (director Luv Ranjan), Aazaan (director Prashant Chadha), Guzaarish (director Sanjay Leela Bhansali), Aisha (director Rajshree Ojha), Teen Patti (director Leena Yadav), Blue (director Anthony D'Souza), U, Me Aur Hum (director Ajay Devgan), No Smoking (director Anurag Kashyap), Dhoom (director Sanjay Gadhvi), and Socha Na Tha (director Imtiaz Ali).
Music videos and ads assisting include: Dhoom Dhoom by Tata Young (for the movie Dhoom by YashRaj Films), Mundeya by Aiysha (international artist), Bheega Badan by Aiysha (international artist), and Lux ad film, starring Aishwarya Rai.
- Curator of The Chrysalis Project (2011, 2012 & 2013)
- Founder of Friends of ART, a non-profit charitable trust set up to provide support to contemporary performing & visual artists from diverse fields
- Founder & Creative Director of The Delhi Contemporary Arts Week - a first of its kind broad-spectrum arts week which aims to create a platform to showcase the work of multi-disciplinary contemporary artists (dance, music, visual art, short films)
- Setting up of CoLab, a Friends of Art initiative for diverse artists to jam with each other in an open structure. The first edition was held at India Habitat Center, New Delhi in 2013 and had a participation of over 40 actors, musicians, dancers, and electronic artists.

Shohini's future plans are to create a grant/ funding program for contemporary artists through Friends of Art. She also wants to develop an arts commune which will have a collaborative approach to creation and production, where diverse artists can come and create new works over residencies and workshops.
