The Danceworx Repertory Company was set
up with senior students hand-picked by the Artistic Director
Ashley Lobo and it currently stands at a strength of over
60 artists. These budding artists are given opportunities
to perform, teach and choreograph. They have a special curriculum
set by the Artistic Director. Their dance repertoire
consists of pieces varying in styles from the various Jazz
forms to original Contemporary movement based on a strong
understanding of the classical forms – both eastern
& western.
The Repertory Company also provides a platform to dance,
choreograph and direct. In pursuit of creating thinking artists,
selective senior students are also given classes in Indian
classical dance forms, Indian folk dance forms, yoga and theatre.
The purpose is to give each dancer a chance to experience
the various forms & methodologies of dance to enable them
to develop a movement philosophy of their own.
